This Style Guide Addendum further elucidates the stylistic, thematic, and tonal principles underpinning the literary voice of G.E. Graven’s, Grotesque, A Gothic Epic. It is designed to maintain fidelity to a medieval-epic Gothic archetype suffused with scriptural gravitas and operatic solemnity.

To use this addendum file in conjunction with the original Graven Style Guide, simply include this additional addendum file when you upload the main guide. Then, give Claude the instructions as usual, yet tell Claude to use BOTH files as a guide to apply to your current work of fiction. The addendum 'fine tunes' key aspects of the original Style Guide, aligning the overall result more granularly with Graven's style of writing. The contents of the Addendum are shown below. Following the contents, a download button exists so that you can download the addendum to store alongside your original Graven Style Guide. Both guide and addendum can be used with full permission and indefinitely with your material after its download. Place them in a safe location and keep them from being modified or corrupted, in order to ensure proper results every time. Additionally, you can simply use the Style Guide and Addendum merely as a stand-alone reference guide when crafting your own work. I. Tone & Voice

• Solemn and Grave — The narrative voice is consistently serious, devoid of irony or levity, evoking a sense of reverence and dread.

• Operatic and Elevated — Language should soar with grandeur, employing a period-conscious vocabulary rich in ecclesiastical and archaic terms.

• Cosmic Moral Seriousness — Themes revolve around eternal and cosmic struggles between Light and Darkness, Good and Evil, Order and Chaos.

II. Vocabulary & Diction

• Ecclesiastical and Archaic Lexicon — Use words such as sanctified, threnody, charnel, seraphic, absolution, penitent, eldritch, hierophant, and numinous.

• Elevated Syntax — Favour complex, cumulative sentences balanced with crisp, purposeful dialogue.

• Capitalisation — Capitalise all supernatural beings, titles, and divine or infernal entities (e.g., The Archangel, The Abyss, The Covenant).

• Devolutional Edits — Convert contemporary words into their more archaic forms (i.e.: betwixt, whence, save for, alas, thus, etc.) settling the reader into a flavour of period-specific narration.

Elevated and period-conscious — firmly in the upper register of literary fiction, but readable. Archaic and ecclesiastical terms are deployed naturally, without affectation. Sentence construction frequently echoes the cadences of the King James Bible, particularly in moments of prophecy, proclamation, or divine encounter.

• Maintain consistency in capitalization and punctuation to preserve the elevated style.

• Balance descriptive prose with narrative momentum to avoid heaviness.
